Residents of Asuansi in Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District have appealed to the government to construct the road from Abakrampa to Asuansi through Nyamedom to enable them transport their farm produce easily to the market.
Assembly member Stephen Amo-Nyarkoh told the GNA that, “we usually find it difficult to get to town with our farm produce when there is heavy downpour. Many oranges get rotten whenever we are in the rainy season because no truck would want to come and load the goods”.
An orange trader, Maame Afua Aidoo, complained bitterly about the nature of their roads fuming, “we voted for NDC with the hope that our roads would be tarred but till date we have not heard anything from them” and added “Have they forgotten us so soon?”
Asuansi, a town with over 5,000 inhabitants, is well noted for the cultivation of dof citrus such as orange and tangerine.
