Over the weekend over 100 executive members of National Scouts and Guide Fellowship (NSGF) gathered in Accra for the end of year party.
The event is organized by leadership of the association to herald the New Year and thank members for their cooperation as well as to plan for the year.
The end of year party which came off on Saturday 5th January, 2019, at the Laboma Beach Resort in Accra brought together old and new executives across the country for an afternoon of food, drinks, fun, and to socialize.
Addressing the enthusiastic executives, the President of the of National Scouts and Guide Fellowship (NSGF) and former Chief of Staff, Prosper Douglas Bani, thanked the executives for their unflinching support since he took over as President of the association last year.
He said, his aim is to unite and make the association more attractive and lift the image of boys scout and girls guide across the length and breadth of the country.
“This is what NSGF is known for, camping, going out there, always coming together, and singing making all the noise. This is what everyone here wants to see. We are working out to bring everyone together; we will organize a camp for all members very soon. This is just bring the old and new members together to eat drink have fun and see what we can do going toward as an association”.
Speaking on the sideline of the event, Commissioner Agbalenyob Daniel who came from the Volta Region bemoaned the state of the association especially at the top.
According to him, Scouting in the country is dying because of there is faction within the executive of National Scouts and Guide Fellowship (NSGF) and Ghana, Scout Association that has affecting the association.
He said the situation has also affected the districts and the regions making it difficult to even organize meeting or gathering to plan for future making the association unattractive.
Commissioner Agbalenyo however believed that, the get together organized the President Hon. Prosper Kweku Bani, the immediate pass Interior Minister would help bring association back to life.
“This are the things that can bring us back together, today when I came I saw the old and the new members, and am very happy to see them, if this continue it help bring us all back to plan for the future of Scout.
So I want called on the leadership of the association to support Mr. Bani. I want thank him and all those who help to organized this party cause I know is not easy to organize this kind of party, food, drinks, everything is there and I must say I really enjoy myself.”
The former President of the NSGF Dr. Albert Tetteh Botchway who did the ground organization said the Laboma Beach Resort is the best place to hold events of this kind, and disclosed that, the association plans to camp at the beach since the place looks very neat and not over crowde
