President John Dramani Mahama has Commissioned two envoys today Friday at the Flagstaff House to begin their duty tour in Nigeria and the Czech Republic. They are HE Mrs Sabah Zita Okainkoi to the Czech Republic and H E William Azumah Awinador Kanyirige, High Commissioner to Nigeria.

President Mahama charged them to be worthy ambassadors to their respective duty post by working hard to enhance the relations between these countries and Ghana especially in trade and other areas of investment.

On Czech Republic, President Mahama recounted the existing relations between both countries since Ghana attained independence. President Mahama revealed that the Czech Republic was instrumental in the development agenda of Ghana under President Nkrumah.
He noted that most of the state enterprises including the Aborso Glass and the GIHOC shoe factories were established through bilateral corporation with the Czech Republic.

President Mahama added the recently revamped Defence Industries Holding Company which is currently producing shoes for the security services as an achievement of the relations between Ghana and the Czech Republic hence the need for the new Ambassador ‘’to use that relationship to help Ghana’s industrialization’’

For Nigeria, President Mahama admonished the new envoy to take advantage of Nigeria been the largest economy of Africa by improving on investment and Trade between Ghana and Nigeria.

They administered three oaths of Secrecy, Allegiance and oath of Office.
